"One of the greatest things in human life is the ability to make plans. Even if they never come true - the joy of anticipation is irrevocably yours. That way one can live many more than just one life."

10 Days!!!

My toes are now officially ready to head to Ireland in 10 days.

My brother and SIL gave me a gift certificate to Coldwater Creek Spa for Christmas. Yesterday, as a "I survived Easter Feast and clean-up" reward I went for a pedicure.

Oh.
My.
Goodness.

Before yesterday, I was one of those people who looked down from a high-and-mighty perch on those foolishly extravagant people who indulge in spa services. The two or three pedicures I've had in my life were done by students at a beauty school. The cheapest beauty school I could find.

I repent.

Before you die, if you truly want to appreciate the coming glories of heaven, do everything you can to go to a spa, just once. Trust me. You will praise Jesus better for having done so.

With that bit of loveliness and a new pair of walking shoes I'm ready to hit the road!

10 days people!!

  1. John gave me the gift of a facial at a spa last Christmas. I had similar views of people who were "so extravagant" and spent so much money to do those kinds of things.
    I also repented. ;-)
    HEAVEN.

Can't wait to do it again. ;-)

Thanks for your kind comments on Katie's birth story post. I was purposefully trying to bring a careful balance of the "interesting" and the "gory" while I was writing, so it was nice to know I succeeded for you! :-)

  2. I still don't understand a mindset that can justify regular spa membership at those prices. The spa assistants knew some of the clients by name! Eventually you have to admit there has to be a limit to how much you indulge yourself and consider missions, orphans and basically all those living outside the USA. :) However, I do hope, just once before I die, to have a whole spa-day! Heaven is right.
