"One of the greatest things in human life is the ability to make plans. Even if they never come true - the joy of anticipation is irrevocably yours. That way one can live many more than just one life."

5 Things

Just a warning...this is going to be a silly, sentimental post. I'll get to something much more reasonable and vacation-y later, however...

After a night of not sleeping because I had to say goodbye for 3 weeks to my babies (when did I get so ridiculous?!) and a morning telling myself, "No, you can't stop by Amara's when you're running errands today in Oregon City," God took mercy upon me and the phone rang.  It was Kathy calling to ask for Jon & Michelle's number so she could get them to fill in her for her mom, who was sick and was going to watch Amara this morning. There will just never be a time I'm too busy to want to watch my girl for a couple hours! "Of COURSE she can come by here for an hour - no need to call them!"

So, I had a happy morning shining up my kitchen and playing with my girl. I had to say goodbye again, which stunk. But I have 5 things to live off of for three weeks til I see her again....

  1. Amara: (sitting in the living room playing while I wash dishes  two rooms away) I!" (long pause)                                                              Grammy: "LOVE" (long pause)                                                             Amara: "YOU!" (just checking I was still there without having to leave her toys)
  2. One more tight hug - her newest skill - to tide me over.
  3. Amara: "Daddy"  Grammy: "He's at work" Amara: "PIANO!"
  4. Amara: (as a light colored sedan drives up the road alongside our house) "OL-I-VER!"
  5. Snuggling on the couch while Amara names every animal, park and airplane in Richard Scary's First Word Book
Okay, I'm done now - thank you for you patience

  1. I had tried so hard to make sure I wasn't going to bother you with my "vain salon appointment" right before your trip, but reading this makes me so happy that I was able to bother you one last time. :) Have a wonderful trip and I'll be checking in, so keep updating!

  2. When are you going to learn? My Amara cup has a leaky bottom and I never get full! I was SO pleased you called. :)
